&lt;p&gt;But... my only criticism of your article is the whole HereBeDragons thing, going on the nature of the example is pretty silly and makes it a bit harder to follow.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I know it seems crusty and clichéd, but an example grounded in the real world would have been &amp;nbsp;bit more suitable.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Never use inline styles, unless you have to. &amp;nbsp;This is a last resort option. &amp;nbsp;Prefer always to use CSS classes when applying presentation changes to the DOM. &amp;nbsp;This makes it flexible to change with other DHTML code.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Second. I&amp;#39;ve used this pattern with jquery often for my alternating rows in a grid. &amp;nbsp;Just be conscious what you are doing, this is all client side. &amp;nbsp;If there were a 1000 or more rows you are putting a lot of stress on the client vs. if you did it server side it would just be rendered with the CSS class.&lt;/p&gt;
